PictureCorrect.com: Interesting Photo of the Day: Stuttgart Library

What comes to your mind when you think of a library? Maybe old books stacked on shelves? Well, that’s just one part of the equation. You’d be remiss to ignore the aesthetic factor as well. Libraries tend to have a warm vibe that calls to avid readers. But with modern architectural practices, the look and feel of the libraries have changed quite a bit. Have a look at the following image of the Public Library of Stuttgart in Germany taken by photographer Sukrut Mhalas and you’ll get a sense of what we mean:

It’s impressive how clean the library looks. The blue sofas and the colorful book covers contrast beautifully with the white interior. Moreover, the stairs and the square-shaped negative space in the center add a beautiful sense of shape and geometry to the image.

While the library definitely looks contemporary, it may not appeal to everyone—especially those who visit libraries frequently. They might expect libraries to have a warmrer, more traditional ambiance.

How do you feel about this modern-looking library? Would you fancy visiting the place?
