Long exposure photography is amazing. It has the potential to capture an image in a way that a human eye cannot see naturally. Combine the technique with an amazing composition and you have the recipe for an engaging and fantastic image:

Captured by mmeyers76, the photograph is of the brown line between the Chicago and Merchandise Mart stops. Besides the blurred out train, what makes this image interesting is how the beautiful S-curve leads the viewer’s eye from the darker part of the image toward the brighter part. The sun is low on the horizon, and the lighting on the sky and the train is just captivating.
Judging by the composition, the timing, and the technique used by the photographer, it really seems like a lot of planning went into it!
