The Lacets de Montvernier (aka the shoelaces of Montvernier) is a 3.4 kilometer road commonly used in the Tour de France. This Alpine climb offers 18 hairpin curves, with a 180 degree switchback about every 150 meters. The road was built over a period of six years (1928-1934), with the intention of reaching the small village at the top of Montvernier.
