Lombard Street is a major tourist attraction in San Francisco, California. Along the eastern segment in the Russian Hill neighborhood, we can find a roadway that is claimed to be the “crookedest” street in the world, having eight hairpin turns. The roadway is so unique that it receives around two million visitors per year. To help you visualize it, here’s a photo by photographer Simon Zhu:
Zhou took this image by combining five consecutive long exposure photos, each a 15-second exposure. He used his Sony A7III camera with the 12–24 f/4 G lens to shoot the images.
The light trails formed by the long exposure of the cars give a sense of how crooked the road really is.
