PictureCorrect.com: Interesting Photo of the Day: 50 Shot Action Sequence of a Skier Down a Mountain

As winter strikes at full throttle, snow falls and compiles itself onto the slopes and peaks of high mountains around the world. It is the time to admire the beauty of nature, the clear blue skies framing natural landscapes mantled in white. But it is also the time to fully enjoy winter as best we can: sports and photography, such as this particular example.

Photographer Dan Carr created this interesting action sequence of professional skier Sammy Carlson enjoying the slopes and jumps in Whistler. But what makes this even more interesting is the fact that, as the sun had already settled behind the mountains and light was running out, this was all shot in one go!

This picture captured by Dan Carr consists of 50 sequential shots of a fluid ski run then compiled together. The equipment Carr used is described in the article, a state-of-the-art Canon 1-D Mark IV, 70-300mm L IS lens, set up at f/4.5 at 135mm, 1/250 sec at f/8.0, and ISO 1000.

I wasn’t sure how many photos my camera could take before it needed to take a breather, but it turned out to be just right. This was Sammy’s first attempt at the line and it turned out to be the best of the three that we had time to get in before the sun went down.
