A late night in the deserts of California will blow you away. This shot from photographer Mark Lehrbass comes from a hike known as the Mobius Arch Loop Trail in the Alabama Hills just West of Lone Pine, California. Lehrbass says he camped out for five days in order to finally get this shot. Once the clouds cleared he could see the Milky Way in all its glory:
Lehrbass shot this with a Nikon D810 at 14mm:
- f/2.8
- 15 seconds
- ISO 3,200
In the background you can also see Mt. Whitney.
In order to see this many stars you have to leave the city and find the most remote areas away from light pollution. How far would you have to go to see the Milky Way?
