PictureCorrect.com: Interesting Photo of the Day: Mt Hood Sunrise

Washington based landscape photographer Ross Schram von Haupt lucked out when he caught a passing glimpse of this vista illuminated by the soft light of the rising sun. Surrounded by rows and rows of towering pines, the prominent peak of Oregon’s Mt. Hood radiates vibrant shades of pink and purple:

Taken from the volcanic peak of the adjacent Tom Dick and Harry Mountain 5,000 feet above sea level, the photo shows a fresh layer of snow blanketing everything in view. Yet, the sky is clear enough to see a gradient of beautiful colors.

How exactly did von Haupt manage to capture this serene scene? As it turns out, there wasn’t much to it other than being at the right place at the right time. Equipped with a Nikon D610 with a 16-35mm f/4 lens, this photographer has the benefit of being firmly planted in the Pacific Northwest—a place with beauty that’s hard to surpass.
