It doesn’t matter who you ask, anyone who has been to Horseshoe Bend understands the area’s natural beauty. Located near Page, Arizona, Horseshoe Bend is part of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. It’s one of those places that will have an impact on you when you see it in person no matter how many pictures you’ve seen:
Created by blending multiple shots, this amazing image was captured by StanleyLock with a Hoya ND filter. Although a few tweaks were made to the settings, the color scheme is close to the view the sunset provided. And according to the photographer, the shot was taken shortly after a storm.
If you visit the area, be prepared for lighting changes. While this amazing view is undiminished no matter what season you visit, different seasons can provide dramatic changes. For instance, monsoon season can provide dramatic looking clouds, while winter might offer a snow-capped scene.
“My suggestion would be to head out early and scope the place out. This thing is massive and you can spend a good amount of time just wondering around trying to find the best rocks to have in the foreground.” –StanleyLock
