Seljalandsfoss is one of the most popular waterfalls in Iceland, and for good reason. Its origins are in a volcano glacier, and visitors can actually walk behind a waterfall into a small cave. Thanks to this, photographers can get really beautiful images with unique perspectives of the fall. Photographer Ben Strauss took the following image of the fall during sunset and it’s nothing short of spectacular:

The image is a 4 shot vertical panorama, each comprising of 3 bracketed shots that Strauss took at 16mm, f/9.1, 5-second exposure, and ISO 100. To get the sun-star effect, he took another shot at f/22 and blended the images together.
The composition is astounding with the silky waterfall perfectly framed between the two landscapes. While the setting sun is brilliant in itself, how the water glows with the same tone as the setting sun makes the image stand out even more. Along with this, it’s beautiful how the dark blue storm clouds contrast with the vibrant sun adding a dramatic effect to the photograph.
