PictureCorrect.com: Interesting Photo of the Day: Miniature London

Tilt-shift photography, or miniature photography, can make a huge bridge look like a tiny miniature toy. Photographer Raphael CloudWhisperer67 shot this famous London bridge last year using a tilt shift lens. The lens can tilt, which gives the miniature effect and helps you control your focus on multiple planes and shift, which can help minimize distortion and is often used in architectural photography:

Tilt-shift lenses can be very expensive, but a similar effect can be achieved by using post production software and is becoming more popular. Many smartphones and point-and-shoot cameras now come with the setting built right in. The miniature effect is usually achieved from a more aerial view and can be a unique way of seeing a familiar subject in a new way.
