Camera autofocus modes refer to the different ways in which a camera’s autofocus system can be set to focus on a subject. Each mode has its own strengths and weaknesses, and can be used in different situations to achieve the best possible results.
Here are the most common autofocus modes to master:
Single-shot AF (AF-S): The camera focuses on a single subject when you press the shutter button halfway. This is the most common AF mode and is suitable for most situations.
This mode is best for static subjects or situations where the subject is not moving. It’s also a good choice for portraits, landscapes, and other types of still photography.
Continuous AF (AF-C): The camera continually focuses on the subject while you hold down the shutter button halfway. This is useful for tracking moving subjects or for shooting in burst mode.

Automatic AF (AF-A): The camera switches between AF-S and AF-C modes automatically, depending on the movement of the subject.
This mode is best for situations where the subject is sometimes moving and sometimes not. The camera will automatically switch between AF-S and AF-C as needed, depending on the movement of the subject.
