PictureCorrect.com: Rainforest Wildlife Photography Tips

There’s no place like the Amazon Rainforest if you’re passionate about photographing wildlife. However, just being there in the Amazon Rainforest doesn’t guarantee that you’ll end up with great images. There are a lot of other technical and behavioral aspects involved that’ll ultimately affect the quality of your wildlife photographs.

If you’re looking for some wildlife photography tips, we have the right video for you today. In this video, photographer Colby Brown shares some amazing insights on how you can take better photos of the wildlife in the Amazon Rainforest:

“One of the best pieces of advice I can give to aspiring wildlife photographers is to customize your camera.”

When you’re photographing wildlife, you need to be quick. Response time is everything. If you miss a moment, you may miss out on an important photo moment. This means that you need to know your camera inside and out; you don’t want to be fumbling around when the action happens. Thankfully, a lot of cameras these days can be customized. Brown highly recommends that you make use of the customizable buttons and program them to the settings that you’re most likely to use.

Talking of speed, you’ll find yourself using fast shutter speed a lot of times. Therefore, if you’re used to working at base ISO only, you’d want to rethink the decision. Feel free to bump that ISO a bit so that you can comfortably shoot images at faster shutter speed.

Like with any genre of photography, you need to be very attentive as far as lighting is concerned. A very interesting and simple tip that Brown shares is to have the sun behind you when photographing an animal. This way, the sun will sufficiently light up the animal.

Besides these interesting tips, Brown touches on various other aspects of wildlife photography such as perspectives, animal behavior, ethics in wildlife photography, background for birds, and many more. So, if you’re looking to taking your wildlife photography skills to the next level, we highly recommend that you watch the complete video. You’ll surely learn a lot from Brown’s expertise.
