Polish photographer Marcin Ryczek snapped this captivating image from the Grunwald Bridge in Kraków. With its naturally made contrast between the dark water and snow, it serves as a perfect reflection of the powerful Chinese Yin Yang symbol (and its depiction of opposing, yet complimentary forces). While simplistic in nature, it takes nothing away from the powerfully infused framed shot with its universal symbolism:
From the rectangle of snow to the stark contrast of the man’s dark silhouette, this amazing image shows how perfect timing and framing can dramatically set the scene. Although the shot was originally captured in color, Ryczek converted the image to black and white. Whether it is the innocence of an everyday activity, the multitude of symbolism, or the relatively unknown aspect of the photographer, every portion of this image seems to capture it all.
