Does your phone have a great camera but you’re not yet sure of what you can do with it? Or maybe you’re in the mood for shooting something totally different? Check the cool folks at COOPH demonstrating new, creative things you can do with you smartphone camera:
While smartphone cameras probably won’t be able to match dedicated cameras in some respects, there are a lot of things you can do with them. And they’re getting better all the time. If you have a phone that can shoot with manual settings, you can shoot all sorts of cool scenes, including some amazing photos of smoke.
Smoke Photography
Keep in mind, though, if your phone doesn’t shoot in manual you probably won’t be able to do a few of these scenes. (I’ve been told that folks haven’t been able to get a crisp smoke shot on an iPhone yet, but maybe that’s user error.) The mirror scenes, though—those you can do with just about any camera. All you need is a mirror and some creativity. (Having a beautiful model helps, too!)

If you don’t already have an expensive smartphone, it might not be worth your while getting one to do these shots. I’d suggest investing in your dedicated camera gear first. Then again, if you already have one or are thinking of getting one, shoot away!
