PictureCorrect.com: 10 At Home Photography Tips During the Lockdown

Things are really difficult around the world at the moment. With the health issues that many people are facing, a number of governments have had no option but to lock down cities, and countries even. Also, self-quarantine seems to be the best bet for your own safety, and that of others too. In a state where most of the population are working from home, the situation is no less than a nightmare for a photographer. Photographer Omar Gonzalez shares 10 tips for indoor photography that you can try out during this time:

This lock down situation is not at all a good one. But, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it has to go down as a bad one. If you’re clever enough, you can make the most out of the situation for the betterment of yourself. While you would’ve been busy with your regular schedule on other days, why not utilize the time to build on something that you were missing out on?

For instance, this could be a good time to find a passion for new genres of indoor photography. Feeling artsy? Start getting creative with still life photography. Or even try your hand at product photography. They pay well too. And if you’ve been a natural light shooter up to this point, why not try out flash photography? Besides trying out different photography genres and techniques, you can even utilize the time taking different online courses that add value to your shooting method and business.

Besides photography, also see about how you can invest this time in improving your editing skills, and getting to know your camera better. There must be a Photoshop technique that you always wanted to learn but didn’t have the time. Or a camera feature that you were unsure about. Well, the time is now. Instead of lamenting on how you’re not being able to follow your passion, improve your skill set. This way you can come back even stronger and better equipped when things get back to normal again.

And of course, whatever you do, make sure that you stay safe. Your safety, and that of your family and others, is what matters the most in a critical time like this.
