PictureCorrect.com: Adding Storytelling to Food Photography

Food photography is something you can do from the comfort of your home. This means, even if you’re stuck indoors, you can still get creative with food photography. You’ll just need to think outside of the box. For instance, in this video, team B&H shows you how you can combine landscape photography and food photography, and take some amazing pictures that tell a story:

You’ll see how you can use miniature figures as your subjects and food as their environment. You can use any food or drink that’s available at your house for this purpose. Go through the video for some inspiration and let your imagination run wild. Try coming up with a story and use the figures and food to tell the story.

And as for the gear, having a macro lens will help. But, if you have a wider lens, that will work too. Wide lenses can add context to the photos. Also, don’t worry if you don’t have a fancy lighting setup. Just work close to a window and you’ll be good to go.

How do you stay creative when stuck at home? Let us know in the comments.
